Many people ask me if they should be doing Boosted Ads or Sponsored Ads when it comes to their Facebook marketing and my answer is ALWAYS Sponsored Ads!

Why this Ad Type?

The great thing about Sponsored Ads is that you have so many different options when choosing the type of advertisement you want to run. And you can personalize based on your objective for the ad. When setting up your ad, you can narrow and niche down using such factors as:

  • Traffic
  • Engagement
  • Video
  • Lead Ad (My favourite and you’ll see why in the video below)
  • Brand Awareness
  • Catalogue Sales
  • Reach
  • Conversions
  • Store Visits

Boosted vs Sponsored

With Boosted Ads, you are taking an existing post from your Business Page and boosting it to get more visibility. Now, I am not saying this is not good. But, with this ad type, you can’t dive deep and target your audience as effectively as you can with Sponsored Ads.

When it comes to Sponsored Ads, you have an opportunity to get very, very detailed with your demographics and fine-tune your target, making your money payout even better. If you are going to invest money into ads, I think it is important to get the most out of that money, and Sponsored Ads is the way to do that.
