We all know that everything kicks it into overdrive around the holiday season. It’s like back-to-school season and summer ALL. OVER. AGAIN. Why? Because life is cyclical and there are always eight million things going on dictating our efforts if we let them.
I’ve said it before and I will say it again. As women, we tend to hit the ground running in the morning chasing after whatever is screaming the loudest. Whether it be our partner, our family or our furbabies, it is not usually our business. Perhaps that’s because we’ve taken on too much. It could be that we are buying into the “Busy Season” mentality. At the end of the day, it’s definitely because we aren’t making our business a priority.
There will always be a busy season and a reason not to give our business our all if we choose for there to be.
And I am not suggesting that there aren’t times in life where we need to dial back one area so that we can take care of another. Somedays my business has to be dialled back so that I can manage another area, or flow, of my life. But as business owners, we know that we can’t stop completely on our work if we are going to build a business that makes money. If we were still in the corporate world, our bosses would notice if we just didn’t show up for work for the month of December…AND our business is no different.
Not showing up when these busy seasons happen, and they happen regularly is we’re being honest, is going to result in fewer sales, less income and not a lot of seeds planted to harvest as sales when the craziness lets up…if it really ever does.
The biggest tip I can give you during these busy times…
This tip is meant to give you one of the many keys to get your business as close to autopilot as you can.
When you can honestly say that you know exactly what is next, it’s because you’ve spent the time mapping it out. This means you’ve likely also got some processes in the works (and in the background) to move them through to those next steps automatically.
BUT…the biggest reason to take the time to implement this tip?
When you know what’s next…
- Telling your customers about it,
- Moving your clients seamlessly along to it, and
- Making the revenue you know you can from it
…becomes ingrained in you.
You start operating on autopilot because you don’t even need to think about it. It becomes like brushing your teeth or getting dressed. You can make it happen in your sleep. You can get it done even when life kicks into overdrive around you…because it’s so ingrained in you that you just do it.
Making money this way is simply a habit
for you at that point.
